FAQ
We actively encourage our members to engage in any type of competitive play in all varieties of games. Developing synergy and companionship can only lead to further success within MMO's. Subsequently, We appreciate our members bringing ideas of multiplayer games to play together as a group in lieu of MMO releases. We have implemented a dedicated server run by management which we configure for specific games such as Valheim, V-rising, Enshrouded, Minecraft & whatever future co-op/multiplayer game the guild anticipates.
This is heavily dependent on the loot mechanics of the MMO. Due to our guild handling newly released MMOs, it is hard to clearly define how loot will be distributed. However, we'll be operating on the principles of participation as the most fair option for a loot system - the more you play, display reliability & contribute to the guild, the more likely to have priority loot.
We do not endorse nor encourage our players to dig into their wallet in order to succeed. However, we do distinguish between financially supporting a game through a monthly subscription, battle passes or similar & straight up purchasing power. Having to spend £10-20 a month for thousands of potential hours played on an MMO is a great deal to make as the developers do have to eat! The P2W level of a game will be discussed within leadership and if the game we're anticipating is P2W - we will not be playing it.
The priority MMO will be discussed & polled within our guild in the event that we have multiple releases in the same year. Main roster members do have to play the priority MMO as a part of the requirements of being accepted within the main roster - however, "Enrolled" members may stay with a specific game and not have to switch if they do not want to. As of January 2024, there is only 1 imminent MMO that will be our priority: Throne & Liberty.
We are focused on utilising PvE to optimise our PvP ability - for example, running content/crafting to obtain the best gear/weapon sets to succeed in a PvP environment. Our main goal isn't to speedrun dungeons for a world record but to participate in competitive PvP.
Our goal is to participate within competitive MMO PvP to the best of our ability & develop long lasting relationships with one another ultimately creating a community which strives to succeed. Our ambition is tempered by acknowledging the significance of being at the foot of the mountain - this is not a deterrent, but an understanding that there will always be a bigger fish.
We do not have any intentions of leading an overly large guild as it goes against our values of having synergy & companionship within the guild. We'd prefer to develop friendships with a smaller group of players and essentially "know" every one of our members as opposed to having hundreds or thousands of faces that we don't even remember the names of. We understand that the types of games we're intending on playing do suffer from a distinct advantage of zerging - however, we will be offsetting our disadvantage through diplomacy & guild-to-guild relations.
Beyond the application process, after this has been satisfied, there are further stipulations attached to initiates when it comes to confirming you as a part of a Quintessence roster. As we're pre-recruiting for games that haven't yet released, there is a high chance of prospects becoming uninterested or simply joining a different guild for the game – the longer that we have without any release date, the higher the possibility becomes. Due to this, we will be admitting initiates into the roster once we have a release date & a subsequent guild-wide meeting.
To give a ballpark number, we're currently have around 10-15 members who are considered a "core" member in the sense that we've played as a group for years & developed niche friendships that have overflowed into IRL. This number is growing exponentially following recruitment efforts & we hope to carry on increasing this until we're at a good number of reliable & dependable members that we can take to any MMO.
We have developed various resources to provide a fulfilling & informed experience when hopping on an MMO. Management have spent countless hours creating guides, knowledgebases, spreadsheets, formulas etc. surrounding the MMOs we're anticipating. Not only do we develop resources surrounding MMOs but we also offer server hosting for other games to allow consistent member engagement in lieu of MMO releases.
